1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
and from the noisome pestilence.
4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge,
even the most High, thy habitation;
10There shall no evil befall thee,
neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in their hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Once again, the sea of red broke the hearts of the men in blue. The league was tight, but Man Utd managed to pull through after a 2-0 win at Wigan while Chelsea stumbled at home to draw 1-1 with Bolton. 10 days later, the Champions League final at Moscow. It was worth the waking up at 3 am to watch this match =) It was an open game, where both teams attacked each other from time to time. Man Utd drew first blood through Cristiano Ronaldo in the 26th minute after the superstar headed in a cross from Wes Brown. United poured forward in search for a second goal, but they were denied twice by Peter Cech, who produced point blank saves from Carrick and Tevez. At the stroke of halftime, by sheer luck, a seemingly harmless ball by Essien was deflected twice and the ball kindly fell to Lampard. Assisted by a slipping Van der Sar, the England midfielder was given a simple task of tapping into an open goal. The second half was equally entertaining, with Chelsea hitting the post once through Drogba and Tevez creating some trouble for Cech. In extra time, Chelsea looked the more dangerous side and nearly took the lead when Lampard's left foot shot cannoned off the bar, with Van der Sar clearly beaten. Giggs had a brilliant chance to seal it for United but his first time shot was somehow deflected by Terry on the line. Then, the ugly moment came....A harmless incident nearly caused a slugfest, and Drogba, what idiocracy...slapped Vidic in front of the referee and received a straight red. Even the commentators were baffled by the actions of Drogba. It was the last minute of extra time and there was no need to flare such tempers. Anyway, the game went into penalty kicks, where Ronaldo missed his spotkick, leaving Terry to win it for Chelsea. By a stroke of luck, he slipped while he was running towards the ball and it went wide to the left of Van der Sar. With Chelsea shaken, United got back their confidence and duly scored through Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and Giggs, Anelka, under pressure to level the score for Chelsea made it easy for Van der Sar when his weak shot was parried away by the keeper....Final score, Man Utd 6 - Chelsea 5...It has been an exciting season and I'm happy that United retained the Premier League title and triumphed in the Champions league for the 3rd time. Congratulations! :D Photos for you all to see haha (no particular order thought :p)

Friday,
16th of May 2008,
What are my thoughts now?
Its been nearly a week I'm back,
I'm still finding my way,
Getting used to life back home,
With nothing much to do,
Sometimes I admit,
I'm becoming a bit lazy.
And it's becoming a bit boring,
Life without any aim,
For now,
I do have matters to settle,
But it's not important now,
Or thats what I think.
Busy thinking of things,
Which so many people have been telling me,
'Don't push it',
Let time take it's path,
Easier said than done my friends,
How can you don't push?,
When the opportunity is right there.
Haih,
I think it's just random writing for me now,
Don't really know what I'm typing,
Could be because of that bad game of tennis,
Or because I'm just thinking too much
Don't know la....

Many things have happened and are happening around the world for the past few years. Just to name a few (the more prominent ones, in no particular order):
Attack on the Twin Towers in US
Hurricane in New Orleans
Mega tsunami in Indonesia
SARS
Mad Cow
Violence in Burma
Shooting of university students in the US
The war in Iraq
Cyclone hitting Myanmar
Most recently, the earthquake in Sichuan, China
For the first time in my entire 22 years on earth, I'm staring at so many destructive natural disasters and violence hapenning around the world. Where is God?, many people will ask. I can only answer them this...It's the last days and that which is prophesied in Matthew 24 is coming to pass. Rumours of wars, earthquakes, pestilence is happening right now.
A timely reminder to the christians to be vigilant and alert so that we do not get swept away by the notions of this life or being distracted by things of this world. May we pray always for the salvation of the lost souls and draw closer to God so that we will be able to discern the schemes of the evil one.
Just a reminder to all of us.....

Speaking from the perspective of a person borned into a Christian family, I find it much easier to drift away from the Lord compared to others. Take myself for example. Too many times, I take forgranted what is placed before me. The priviledges of being a child of God, to be able to communicate with Him through the Holy Spirit, the imporance of studying the Word and praying. All these things are taken so lightly that it becomes alien to me.
People like me need something to whack me on the head to wake me up and make me realise my grave mistake. I've been blinded by the word 'love' so many times that I've strayed so far from Him and my Ivan Ong the god of my life. It is only when we are really empty or have experienced emptiness (like total emptiness) then only we know how small, how helpless, how insignificant, how minute we are in this world without Him being the centre of our lives.
As I was pondering and reflecting the semester, I feel the Lord just telling me that above everything else, fear Him and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man (Proverbs 12:13) and to seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). For the coming semester, everything, including studies, serving in VCF, getting into a relationship, friendships, sports, cannot have priority over my life (which will be difficult but nontheless not impossible).
Dear Lord,
This my simple prayer,
My God and my Saviour,
I'm humbled by Your mercy,
I'm broken inside,
Once again I come to You,
All that I dream of and aspire to be,
I place it into your hands,
Trusting and believeing that You,
and only You,
Is able to help me through,
This journey on Earth,
Decisions that I have to make,
I'm placing it at Your feet,
I thank You for all the times,
by Your mercy,
You pull me out of sin and bondage,
Thank You
Really Thank You...
